The Grief Process Defined
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross was the first to clinically define the various stages of the grieving process as Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. Even though dying is a natural and inevitable part of the cycle of life, we respect the fact that everyone deals with the stages of grief differently. Some may even have a limited understanding of the grieving process as a whole.
How Our Bereavement Program Can Help
Our Hospice Bereavement Program is available to all patients and families upon request. Our professional bereavement counselors and chaplains will be there for support as the patient and his or her family move through the grief cycle. Because everyone's religious, spiritual and emotional needs differ, the program will be tailored to meet those unique and specific needs.
Many patients and families have established a relationship with a local church or religious organization. However, if additional support is desired, our team is prepared to work in conjunction with the family's local church or ministry. It is our firm belief that one cannot have too much support during such a critical time.
Always there for you
When you or a loved one are being cared for by our Hospice Team, our bereavement services are available to you at any time upon request and as frequently as you desire. This type of comprehensive support is just one more way we take "the whole person" into consideration when providing hospice care.
